boondoggled

Knitting has not been going well

Knitting has not been going well. The white line is how far I have to rip back on the front of the pullover version of Leaving, cue the violins. I forgot the increases after the waistline and there is no way to fudge things. Lacework has boondoggled me once again. Isn't the color lovely though? That's Miss Babs Northumbria DK in Vlads Red.

My wrist has been bothering me and I have been taking things slowly so this is an especially big blow. I sprained my left wrist, my non-dominant hand, awhile ago and then I think the knitting aggravated things and may be giving me tendonitis. I have been very aware of it and have been taking things easy, it does feel better but my knitting output has slowed to glacial pace. There is a great article about wrist health for knitters in Twist Collective by the Problem Ladies, Kay Gardiner and Ann Shayne, here. Interestingly, when I took a break to knit those little ornaments using my usual size 2 dpns and fingering weight yarn, my wrist instantly felt better, I must be built to do colorwork and knit small things.

Happy Holidays! I hope the New Year brings you all health, happiness, and peace.

Oh no! That's too bad about the ripping. I hope your wrist feels better soon. Happy holidays to you and your family!

13THat red is indeed the most deeply 'intelligent' & sexy red I've seen in a long time...shades of red are like women. :) REally bummed to hear about your wrist hurting, but I'll be the first to agree to let the smaller knitting guide you ro prove it's point. I suppose the way we hold a larger piece of knitting, and the weight of it, is apparently different than the way we hold and manipulate smaller pieces. Why not have a sock-knitting rest period? I wish you the gest this CHristmas !

The red is beautiful but you can outsmart it, I know you can. Hope your wrist feels better soon--I love that you're built for knitting tiny letters into yarn! (and snowflakes).
Have a merry xmas!

I didn't know you had sprained your wrist. How did it happen? Please take extra good care of your wrist, and all your other wonderful body parts

I hope your wrist feels better soon. It's tough when that happens. I hurt my thumb a while ago without knowing how and I had to take a break from knitting.

Happy Holiday and Happy New Year!

Having recently experienced a major boondoggle of my own, I sympathize. But it looks like it will be worth the trouble! Very pretty.

Hope the wrist feels better! Happy, healthy 2013!
